01. Data Collection

We collect your email for authentication and your swipe history so our algorithms can suggest movies you'll truly enjoy. We also store basic profile information and account settings.

• Swipe and like history (for algorithm functionality)
• Avatar (uploaded at user's discretion)
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device (for security purposes)
• Subscription and transaction data (via Stripe)

02. Payments and Subscriptions

We use Stripe, a secure payment processor, to handle Premium access transactions. MovieMatcher does not collect, process, or store your full credit card details or CVV codes on our servers. All transactions are subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

03. Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal data. Your data may only be shared with trusted third-party services (such as hosting providers and payment gateways) strictly to operate MovieMatcher.

Third-party services we use that may receive data:

• Stripe (payment processing)
• TMDB API (movie data, we do not share personal data)
• Hosting provider (file and database storage)
• Google OAuth (if you log in via Google)

04. Use of Cookies

MovieMatcher uses session and technical cookies to keep you logged in, ensure security, and maintain the stability of co-watching rooms.

Cookie types: session cookies (required for login), CSRF tokens (form security). We do not use third-party analytics or marketing cookies.

05. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to request a copy of your data, correct it, or completely delete your account and associated interaction history. To initiate data deletion, use the profile settings or contact support.

06. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide services, or until you delete your account. After account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized aggregated data (non-identifiable) may be retained longer to improve the service.

07. Data Security

We apply modern technical and organizational security measures: HTTPS/TLS encryption for data transmission, hashed password storage (bcrypt), CSRF form protection, and regular security updates. However, no internet service can guarantee 100% protection against attacks.

08. Age Restrictions

The service is not intended for individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect children's data. If we learn that we have collected a child's data without parental consent, that information will be deleted immediately.

09. TMDB API

All movie content (posters, descriptions, ratings) is provided by the third-party service TMDB (The Movie Database). We do not host video files or illegal content on our servers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a site notice. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes your agreement to the updated Policy.
